Over the years, their range has grown to include a variety of spreads, baking sticks, nut butters, dressings & even snacks. An Australian brand started in 1932, Nuttelex represents the goodness of plants with butter alternative made from plant oils. It is Lactose & Dairy Free, Gluten-free, GM Free, Nut-free and does not contain additives or preservatives. One of the most widely available vegan, dairy-free butter alterative in Singapore, you can find Nuttelex Buttery Spread, Nuttelex Buttery Spread with Olive Oil, Nuttelex Original, Nuttelex Olive Spread, Nuttelex Coconut Spread. Naturel Reduced Fat Spread
Naturel has a wide range of cooking oils, margarines and spreads easily available in supermarkets around town. Out of Naturel’s range of cholesterol free soft margarine and spreads, the Naturel Reduced Fat spread is dairy-free and lower in fat.

While the choices for dairy-free butter and butter alternatives here is comaritively limited, there are plenty of options available for vegan spreads that include nut butters. Here are a few brands that caught our attention for various reasons – most of these are healthier products and have a range of interesting flavours to choose from. Let’s treat ourselves to some Hearti Grub to start with. HG is all about food that is preservative free, with no unhealthy fats, no additives, no colourings, no fillers, modified sugars or starches. Organic spreads made from nothing but the finest nuts, local bakery Bud Of Joy offers a range that is preservative free and added sugar free. Vegan range includes Artisan Organic Almond Butter (S$17.50) and Artisan Organic ABC Spread (Almonds, Brazil Nuts and Cashews), Organic Cacao Hazelnut Spread, Organic Orange Marmalade, Organic Black Sesame Spread – all made fresh from certified organic ingredients. Their almond butters are handmade to order (in Singapore), so you need to order a minimum of three jars, more details can be found on Nutteree’s website. Indulge in vegan, preservative free Roasted Almond Butter (S$15), Salted Almond Butter (S$15), Espresso & Vanilla Almond Butter (S$15). Yet another home-grown brand,The Hunters’ Kitchenette creates its nut butters fresh daily by lightly roasting the nuts, and seasoning with just a hint of unrefined French sea salt and coconut palm sugar, making them full of flavour and richness. Their vast and varied range of dairy-free nut butters and vegan spreads includes Pistachio Nut Butter, Almond Nut Butter, Cashew Nut Butter, Hazelnut Cocoa Nut Butter, Hazelnut Butter, Macadamia Nut Butter, Black Sesame Spread and Cashew Sesame Spread.
