Christmas festivities can often be tough on vegetarians and vegans as most of the food is centred around Turkey and other meats. Fret not; for this festival season, Grand Hyatt, Singapore brings you Christmas and New Year Buffets that will have hearty spreads of vegetarian friendly dishes with options for vegans.

This is not the first time they have chosen the socially responsible route to food. Last year, Grand Hyatt introduced a plant-based Italian Lunch Buffet at Pete’s Place. Over the last few months, they’ve launched Beyond Burgers, JUST egg and Omnipork – all these “meats” are meatless food options, now available in their restaurants.

And now, this year shall end on a delightful note at Grand Hyatt, even for the vegetarians as their special vegetarian inclusive menus are being dished out on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve. Here’s a low down on the Vegetarian offerings at the different restaurants at Grand Hyatt.

3 Vegan dishes are available for takeaway on their online shop, so you can create your own dinner menu from the comfort of home with these delicious plant-based entrée, roast and pastry. You can browse the selection and order here.

  • Plant-based Christmas Root Vegetable & Nut Loaf: Made with root vegetables, nuts, seeds, quinoa, oat flakes, chestnuts and spinach, and served with a mushroom gravy, this entree will delight your guests.
  • Plant-Based Whole Celeriac “Ham”: Make your home party special with a plant-based celeriac ham, seasoned with festive spices and served with tarragon mustard.
  • Vegan Chocolate Brownies: Rich and fudgy, these plant-based chocolate brownies will end your party on the perfect indulgent note.

Mezza9

Celebrate Christmas and New Year at Mezza9 with their festive buffets. The Christmas Buffets will have an impressive spread, including options for vegetarians. Dig into Antipasto like Kalamata Olives, Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, Olive Tapenade, Guidillas Peppers; and get your fill of greens & veggies at the Organic Vegetable & Salad Bar. Grill and Rotisserie will offer vegetarian fare such as Maple Syrup Glazed Carrots, Sautéed Green Beans with Herb butter, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Winter Squash with vanilla butter, Mashed potatoes with nutmeg and Brioche and Cranberry Stuffing. If you’re a fan of Thai food, enjoy the Som Tam Salad; or pick the Japanese Cucumber Maki or Pickled Radish Maki Rolls. After the fabulous meal, hit the Patisserie for the choicest Desserts and Cheeses.

The New Year’s Buffet will include most of the vegetarian options from the Christmas menus. In addition, you’ll also get to enjoy dishes like Traditional Baked Ratatouille, Roasted Hasselback Potatoes, Creamed Young Spinach with Parmesan and Crispy Garlic, Yam Som O (spicy honey pomelo salad), Mushroom Dumplings with Blackbean sauce and more.

Several of the dishes on offer at Mezza9 are vegan-friendly. There is at least one vegan option in each vegetarian selection category.

Pete’s Place

Celebrate Christmas with a touch of Italy in the rustic trattoria settings of Pete’s Place, and savour hearty Italian fare including salads from the trattoria’s Salad Bar, freshly-baked Italian bread, and handcrafted wood-fired sour dough pizzas. The vegetarian friendly menu offers a selection of Anti Pasti – including organic vegetables, Bruschette, Mozzarella Bar; Zuppa – including Minestrone and Plant-based basil & kale pesto; a selection of Pastas – Arranchini Ai Funghi, Risotto Alla Milanese Giallo; Veg PizzasContori including gems like Eggplant Parmigiana. The veg selections on the New Year’s Eve Menu vary slightly with dishes like Risotto in bianco, Polenta and Funghi arrostiti, cavolfiori e pomodori. The highlight of the NYE Menu though will be the Countdown dessert extravaganza in the lobby.

Pete’s Place also has many vegan options, at least dish in each vegetarian selection category is vegan.
