With school holidays here, sooner or later you’ll find yourself struggling with ideas on how to keep the kids occupied. While a trip to the popular LEGOLAND, in Johor Bahru, might be on the mind of parents of older kids, those with tiny tots can consider heading over to the Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park, just 10 minutes away from LEGOLAND.

Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is home to the famous Sanrio Hello Kitty Town, the first Hello Kitty Theme Park outside of Japan. In fact, Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park is sometimes more commonly known as the Hello Kitty (HK) Town. To be honest, I might have rolled my eyes when a friend first suggested that we visit. Turned out I was too quick to judge, the park was very age-appropriate for my then 2.5-years-old twins and we had a whole day of family fun.

While there are comparatively fewer things to do for older kids, it is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who are still not old enough to enjoy LEGOLAND. And parents of boys, fret not! Besides HK Town, Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park also houses the The Little Big Club, so I can assure you that the boys will have as much fun as the girls.

We started with HK Town on the first floor. The twins went gaga over the Tea Cup Ride and we had to queue up a few times to enjoy those spins. Hello Kitty fans will probably have fun touring Kitty’s House and partaking in the other activities like jewellery making, cookie-decoration and dress-up. My daughter and I even spent some time doing our nails (Yes, they actually have a nail studio!). We also got some great pictures (photo souvenirs) posing with Hello Kitty and friends at the Dream Photo Garden. continue reading
