We love pizzas! Well, who doesn’t, right? While Singapore seems to be insanely fond of this Italian classic, we all know that the meaty pizzas dominate the scene. Fret not, herbivores! We’ve compiled a list here of the 11 best pizzas in Singapore, for the vegetarian diner, many of them tried by us. While taste is crucial, we gave prime importance to variety as well.
While the classic cheesy Margherita and Quattro Formaggi (a.k.a. Four Cheese Pizza) can be found almost anywhere (rather everywhere), there are several pizzerias that serve more than their fair share of authentic, interesting and creative vegetarian pies. So, read on to discover the best vegetarian gourmet pizzas in Singapore (in no particular order) that will have you in food heaven in no time.
And for when you’re feeling too lazy to go out, we also have a round-up of the Best Vegetarian Pizzas for Delivery.
1. Alt. Pizza
No frozen ingredients, no pre-prepared stuff, only the freshest ingredients (including dough that is made daily)! So, try one of the vegetarian pizzas – Old School (vine-ripened tomato sauce, parmesan, mozzarella, basil and oregano); Hipster (tomato sauce, mozzarella, pineapple, jalapeños, feta, red onions, cheddar and roasted garlic chilli oil) or Lean & Green (roasted garlic pesto, mozzarella, feta, broccoli, baby spinach and roasted squash) – and be floored with the first bite. These guys have been spreading pizza-cheer since 1993. This quaint little restaurant serves the finest Sourdough wood fired, oven baked pizzas, and friendly service and a pleasant ambience define the place. La Forketta serves a whopping six vegetarian pizzas, one of them vegan. Cheese lovers can opt for the Margherita (S$ 30) or 4 Formaggi, while vegans can go for the Marinara (S$ 26). Other veg options are Parmigiana (organic tomato puree, fresh buffalo mozzarella, eggplant and parmesan); Insalata (fresh buffalo mozzarella, fresh datterini tomatoes, rocket salad, oregano and e.v.o oil) and Carciofini (mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, artichokes and basil).

3. La Pizzaiola
A true Italian pizzeria, providing an authentic, down to earth Italian pizza and pasta experience. While cheese-lovers can gorge on the Margherita and Quattro Formaggi, veggie lovers can go for Verdure (tomato sauce, mozzarella, eggplant, zucchini and capsicum). Vegetarian choices might seem to be limited, but they’ll happily exclude meat from some of the non-veg pizzas to make them suitable for vegetarians, giving the herbivores more choice. Besides, they also serve vegetarian antipasti, salads and pasta.

The traditional vibe of the place rustles up an appetite for their super pizzas. Il Contadino comes with tomato sauce, mozzarella and mix grilled vegetables, while La Bufalina is topped with light tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella and basil. And then there are the Margherita (S$ 19++) and 4 Formaggi. To top it all, they offer a ‘Make Your Own Pizza’ option, so choose your favourite toppings and have fun with different combos. Their delightful pies definitely belong in the list of best pizzas in Singapore.

Modesto’s traditional Italian wood-fired pizzas are loved by all, even the herbivores. And with 8-9 veg pizzas on the menu (varies by outlet), why wouldn’t they be? The huge variety of vegetarian pizzas include Margherita (S$21) and Quattro Formaggi. My personal favourite is Mediterranea (kalamata olives, garlic & oregano) although, some might find it a bit too salty. Other veg pizzas include Verdure (grilled eggplant, zucchini, capsicum & mushroom); Funghi; Greca (artichokes, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, onions & garlic); Ricotta e Spinaci (ricotta cheese & fresh baby spinach); Bufala and Portobello. Besides the best pizzas in Singapore, they serve a host of other vegetarian dishes.
Equally popular for dine-in and delivery, Spizza is a delightful choice for pizza lovers – even the vegetarian ones. We love their Margherita (S$ 21++/25++), but team ERL’s favourite spizzas are the Elisa (tomato, mozzarella, pesto sauce, olives, pine kernels and parmesan cheese) and the very creative Quinta (tomato, mozzarella, egg, black truffle paste) – we’ve had the egg removed upon request. Vegans can go for the cheese-free Claudia (tomato, bell peppers, zucchini, eggplants, artichokes and mushrooms). Have a sweet tooth? Go for Zara (S$ 16++/20++) – a sweet pizza with Nutella, banana and almond flakes. They have also recently launched a Make Your Own Pizza option.

The right base, the right ingredients, the right seasoning and the right bite, this is pizza done the fine Italian way. The Forum outlet serves Funghi Misti (with porcini mushroom sauce, roasted mushrooms, mozzarella & chervil) and Pimped Margherita, which is a hardcore favourite with my kids. The Vivo outlet serves Truffle Shuffle (white sauce, fontal, balsamic onions, free-range egg & black truffle) and Margherita (S$ 24.50++). We prefer the Forum outlet as we’ve found the service there to be better. With their Kids’ Menu and Kids’ Activity Pack, Jamie’s is especially great for families with young children.

With a delightful indoor-outdoor concept, Da Paolo serves gourmet pizzas along with a kids’ menu. Among their Red Pizzas are two delicious vegetarian options: Campagna (goat cheese, mozzarella, sauteed spinach and marinated artichokes); and Margherita. The White Pizzas boast of 3 vegetarian options: Bosco D’Inverno (truffled mascarpone, mushrooms, truffle oil); Isola Verde (gorgonzola, caramelized onions, fresh baby spinach); and Quattro Formaggi. They also serve vegetarian pastas and a couple of veg appetizers, so vegetarians are guaranteed enough choice.

Celebrity chef Mario Batalli’s Pizzeria Mozza needs no introduction. For a truly fine Italian experience, Pizzeria Mozza it is. Bianca (fontina, mozzarella, sottoccenere & sage); Margherita (S$ 27); Burrata (slow roasted tomatoes & Sicilian oregano); Pizzette (squash blossoms, tomato & burrata; Tomato, Sicilian oregano); Funghi misti (fontina, taleggio & thyme) are yum options for vegetarians. I wanted to try something different so I requested for the Brussels Sprouts (S$ 28) to be done meatless (in fact, it might have been vegan) and loved it.
